Michael Kitchen, Rowena Miller/Kitchen, and their son, Jack, attend Tom Stoppard’s birthday party at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London on July 1.

He’s gotten his thirty-something figure back.

Michael Kitchen and his wife were also photographed together at the 1994 BAFTA Awards where he was a best actor nominee for To Play the King.

A lovely, rare photo of MK with his wife and son, but his significant weight loss has me concerned.

The weight loss seemed to be quite sudden right after 2016 Pern. He looked very bad in “The Collection” but quite well again in this spring’s Pern segment. My bones are saying he’s had open heart surgery. Thanks so much for this find and for all your photos and gifs through the years!!!

Something happened in the last 3 months. I do hope the fact that he attended the party means he’s in good health. Lovely to have you drop in every once in a while and leave a comment.

Forgot to to add . . . his eyes still have that sparkle and a smile that melts your heart!

So good to see the family out together – too bad young “Farmhouse” wasn’t there. I do hope MK is well. Like all his fans, I wish him a happy, healthy, long life.

Have you noticed that something is wrong with the perspective in that picture? MK especially. Wrong camera lens or what?

There’s some foreshortening going on due to the close, high camera angle. The photographer must have been following this advice:

Everyone looks great from above! Make sure the camera is at least eye level – if not higher – when taking pictures. This angle will highlight those gorgeous eyes and hide any less than flattering elements under the chin.

I don’t blame the BackGrid photographer for wanting to highlight MK’s eyes. The Rex Features photo was shot from below, indeed with less than flattering results in the chin area.

I figured out the camera was high, but not sure about anything else. Me, I’d like to wring that photographer’s neck. No matter what camera angle, MK’s face and eye’s look great. Just couldn’t handle those short legs and any other distortion of his body that made him look like a dwarf in this picture. We all know he has long, good looking male legs!

If you think he looks dwarfish now in the photo, imagine if he still had a belly! The camera angle doesn’t really bother me. In fact, the more I look at the photo, the better I think he looks with his trimmed down shape.

We’d have never seen his legs if he was still porting that belly!! I know some really would have really loved to explore it. Agree that he needed to trim down, but I can hardly stand to look at the photo –

Sorry you feel that way about the photo given that it’s the only one of its kind we have of MK.

Rowena seems to be posing a little oddly, but I love this photo. MK looks trim, healthy and happy. His wife is gorgeous.
